Rhythm uplifts you and helps you to become stronger and more resilient. In this class, we exercise for our voice volume, speech clarity, and breath support through carefully-crafted group vocal and singing exercises. We also work on balance, coordination, strength, and dual cognitive skills through rhythmically-facilitated movement exercises including drumming. Other music-making exercises are also part of the class helping foster social interactions and cognitive connections. Are you still hesitant to join because it's "music" therapy? No worries -- music therapy does not require you to have a musical background! This music therapy-based class is designed to help people with Parkinson's to manage or improve their conditions and well-being by engaging in structured music-based methods.
