Donate an instrument in Seattle
Even an instrument that needs a bit of work can still be a valuable donation. Ted Brown Music Store will donate the time and resources to restore the instrument, and Ted Brown Music Outreach, a 501(c)(3) non profit, will put it in the hands of a child who needs it.
We accept instrument donations in Seattle, Tacoma, Richland, Yakima, Silverdale, and Puyallup. In-kind instrument donations are tax deductible. Bring it by a Ted Brown Music store or contact us below!

We accept most new and used musical instruments in playable or repairable condition, including:
Why It Matters
Thousands of kids in Washington State want to learn music but can't afford an instrument. Your donation changes that. Since 2007, Ted Brown Music Outreach has connected donated instruments with students who go on to play in school bands, summer camps, and beyond.
What Happens to Your Donation
Every donated instrument is inspected and, where needed, repaired by the team at Ted Brown Music. Instruments in good condition go directly to students who need them. Instruments beyond repair may be used for parts to restore others, or sold with 100% of proceeds benefiting TBM Outreach's programs.
Your donation is tax deductible. We'll provide an in-kind donation receipt upon request.

- String instruments (violin, viola, cello, bass)
- Guitars, bass guitars, and ukuleles
- Keyboards and portable pianos
- Sealed accessories, reeds, and mouthpieces
